CHRISTOS TSONIS

Christos Tsonis is the founder and a director of CXT Legal and holds law degrees from Flinders University Law School and the University of Melbourne. He is known for his unmatched style, which fuses legal and pragmatic to ensure clients of CXT Legal achieve their commercial objectives.
Christos has a strong track record in mergers and acquisitions, capital and debt raisings and corporate governance, and has led the closings of many significant private market transactions.
Christos is consistently ranked a one of South Australia’s lawyers of choice in transactions and was included in the 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions of the Doyle’s Guide listing of leading and recommended South Australian Commercial Lawyers. In 2019, he also led the CXT Legal team to be recognised as one of South Australia’s fastest growing businesses by revenue, placing it in the Top 25 of the SA Fast Movers Program. In 2023, Christos was listed as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards in both the Corporate and Commercial Categories (winning the National Corporate Partner of the Year category for 2023).
Christos is recognised as a strategic and outcome-focussed transaction lead who is personable, commercially astute, strategic and pragmatic.

DANIEL SETTIMIO

Daniel joined CXT Legal in 2018 and acts a transaction leader on corporate law mandates. Daniel has been exposed almost exclusively to corporate transactions, corporate advisory and corporate funding (debt and equity) and general commercial.
A university medallist from the University of South Australia, he thrives on getting into the detail and technical aspects of legal matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions (M&A). As a Senior Associate, Daniel now plays a key role in drafting and advising on complex transaction suites and assisting corporate and commercial negotiations, with application to fast moving transactions.
Daniel is recognised as hardworking, meticulous, and loyal. Daniel’s greatest strengths and skills are his attention to detail, his persistence, and his ability to connect with clients on a deeper level to understand their commercial objectives.
He has acted buy and sell side on numerous large scale, national and international transactions and regularly assists CXT Legal clients on debt, equity and hybrid funding arrangements.
Daniel was listed in the 2023 and 2024 Best Lawyers ‘Ones to Watch’ Corporate Law (as published in the Australian Financial Review).

Associate
Alicia joined the CXT Legal team in early 2022 and practices as an Associate, heading our property and infrastructure speciality. Alicia also has a focus on commercial and corporate transaction disputes and maintains an important role as part of our wider transactions team bringing her specialist skill set to supplement those teams.
Prior to joining the firm, she gained specialist experience as a lawyer at an Adelaide CBD law firm working in the areas of private client law, property and infrastructure transactions and commercial laws.
Alicia is recognised by her peers and transaction counterparties as open-minded, determined, and resourceful. She values the importance of engaging with clients in a high-quality professional and composed manner and working collaboratively with clients to achieve positive outcomes. In her transaction dispute practice, Alicia is recognised as an outstanding disputes resolution strategist that is regularly called upon by clients to provide early case assessments and detailed opinions on complex issues.
Alicia studied Law and Arts at the University of Adelaide. Within her Arts degree, she majored in Italian Studies and can speak and translate the language.

Kolby joined CXT Legal in 2023 and has completed double degrees in Law and International Relations and Political Science. She was admitted as a Lawyer in early 2024.
Prior to joining CXT Legal, she gained broad work experience both in legal administration and commercial law disputes (in a large, Adelaide based, commercial law firm) and in political settings.
Kolby counts, as her recent experience, exposure to corporate and commercial transactions (including capital, debt and hybrid raising) as well as assisting in the private client law service line.
She is recognised for her attentive, organised, and positive approach and is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to clients. With a focus on developing strong commercial acumen, Kolby aims to provide valuable guidance that aligns with clients’ business objectives.

MARTHA IOANNIDES

Martha officially joined CXT Legal in April 2021; prior to this, she had a professional alliance arrangement with the firm. Since her admission to practice law in 2008, she has worked across a variety of areas including enduring and general powers of attorney, advanced care directives, applications for grants of probate and letters of administration, but she has predominantly been practising in the area of private client law (wills and estates).
Martha is recognised as being reliable, well organised and adaptable, as well as having good time management skills and a pragmatic approach to resolving client matters. Martha is respectful of others’ views and input and is known for working collaboratively with both clients and colleagues.
Martha is very passionate about the areas of law she practices, and it gives her great pleasure to be able to assist clients with their estate planning needs, as well as with the probate and administration process following the passing of a loved one and the complexities that arise with competing interests.
Martha is proficient in Modern Greek, and for over 10 years she has been involved as a volunteer with the Messinian Association of SA Inc, where she has served as both a member and as president of the organisation’s executive committee.

STACEY TSONIS
Operations Executive
As the Operations Executive for CXT Legal, Stacey oversees to the day-to-day operations of the business in all aspects, from finances to human resourcing. She is also responsible for setting the strategic objectives of the business and overseeing the delivery of the operational aspects of that strategy.
Stacey has been with CXT Legal since its inception, but more formally since 2016. Prior to working with CXT Legal, she worked in tax and business services before joining the University of Adelaide as the financial accountant for its Division of Services & Resources, overseeing a $100m+ budgeted turnover for a division that employed over 500 people.
Stacey is recognised as capable, motivated, engaging and someone who will always do her best to get the job done efficiently, working to uplift those around her. She provides an important, but calming, perspective to the legal team and is known for working well under pressure and successfully juggling multiple tasks at once. She is responsible for the delivery of strategic projects via the CXT Legal Advisory Board.
As the joint owner of the business, Stacey feels personally invested in its success and continued growth. For her, the most rewarding part of the business has been creating a culture of ‘family’ in the office, where each person is valued for the work that they do.

Peter is an experienced executive and director with more than 30 years of expertise in strategic, corporate, commercial, financial and project management. Past executive experience has included his role as leading BDO as Managing Partner.
He has a passion for growing and improving businesses through innovation and effective engagement of all key stakeholders. He has specific experience and expertise in leading professional service organisations and businesses.
Peter has held senior executive and commercial management positions within public and private sections, bringing about change in the performance of those organisations.
In 2020, he accepted an advisory mandate with CXT Legal coinciding with the creation of its new strategic plan.
In 2021, that mandate translated into his appointment as Chair of the CXT Legal Advisory Board as the business enters a new stage of growth.
